Don't worry, this game is full of little secrets like that. So much I kinda ran out of possible loot to find around chapter 8 so you may notice there aren't that many things to find in the late game (tho they did become harder to find as well, so there's that)

The wolf girl is an NPC on Eastwall who gives you a tiny side quest to fetch smth for her. With the next update, she'll also have a second quest.
There's also a kid on Mappi village who gives you a side quest. There aren't that many, but talking to random NPCs can be useful sometimes ;)
