​The day has finally come! Witch Hat & Ears of Cat's full version is out!

Thanks for everyone who played and I hope to keep bringing out fun adventures. Check the public post on my Patreon later for future plans. For now, feel free to play and enjoy the new content.

Patch notes below:

v1.0.0 (Full release)

- Added chapter XII in the game

- Added the last part of Huyuchi Village's quest

- Added a major side quest to the Guild

- Updated the title screen

- Changed the menu screen's layout

- Added the "Adventurer Journal" item into the game to help you keep track of quests (just interact with Lianna's dresser at any point to receive it)

- Moved the gravedigger to the side and made the church now accessible

- Added the "Holy Water Bottle" item into the game, available for burchase at Eastwall's church

- The wolf girl now has a new request for you if you've reached the last chapter

- Added the "Shady Merchant" character to the city, who will only appear under certain circunstances

- Added a few unique interactions at night

- Made it impossible to bring Cindy north during chapter V

- Added some new illustrations to scenes from old chapters

- Changed the victory music of boss fights as well

- Nerfed the dmg bonus of Jeanne's Dark Blade and the Fire Rag item

- Mao's "Swift Fingers" skill now only has a 20% chance to actually double the items gained from a fight

- Updated the visuals of the guards and soldiers

- Adjusted the price of some healing itens

- Slightly boosted Shida's M.Attack

- Reduced the level in which Lianna learns the "Clear Mind" skill from 13 to 11

- Lianna can now learn the "Paralyzing Beam" spell at level 13

- Reduced the level in which Mao learns the "Predator Senses" skill from 14 to 13

- Buffed Skam'mer's Max HP, Def and M.Def (I'm sorry lol)

- Set the main characters' max level to 15 (though you're expected to finish the game around 10)

- Increased the TP recovered by the Stimulant item from 20 to 30

- Further boosted the speed of Jeanne's Dark Blade (so you can buff Mao at the same turn he attacks, for example)

- Fixed some fights in which Cindy's Incense worked despite not being supposed to

- Adjusted the amount of Coppers dropped by most regular enemies

- Made some minor changes and corrections to existing content

Overall progress: 100%!

Starting the development of chapter XII now, so I'm releasing an update with all the fixes made so far. Patch notes below:


- Added content warning at the beginning of the game, as it may not be suitable for all ages

- Changed the elemental golems' weakness to correspond to their element (the fire golem is weak to ice but resistant to fire, and vice versa)

- Fixed the bug that prevented you from leaving the lakeside cabin if you returned after completing chapter IX

- Fixed the bug that made it possible to walk over counters with piles of paper

- Made some minor changes and corrections to existing content

This is it, folks! Chapters X and XI are out! Not gonna waste your time here, so go play it when you can! I hope you have fun! xD


Patch notes:

- Added chapters X and XI in the game, as well as the related areas and content

- Fixed the bug that allowed you the enter the swamp before chapter IX

- Fixed the bug that allowed Jeanne to learn her Wild Rage skill early

- Increased the level Jeanne learns Profane Retribution from 9 to 13

- Reduced the level Jeanne learns Sinful Shield from 12 to 10

- Made some minor changes and corrections to existing content

- Certain bossfights have distinct music now

​Just a minor update to remind everyone the game is still alive and to fix some bugs and improve other areas. v0.10.0 is likely going to have both chapters X and XI, but I hope to release it still somewhere near the end of the month, so stay tuned!


Path notes below:

- Fixed the bug that made it possible to fight the giant spider over and over again

- Updated a picture of Mao in Lianna's room

- Fixed the audio when opening curtains (now it should play properly on both ears)

- Extended the dialogue with Mulach about their age

Some really major bugs were found in the last version, so I wanted to get this update out asap. I hope you can forgive my terrible programming skills lol ;-;


Patch notes below:

- Fixed the bug that prevented that player from leaving Eastwall after completing chapter IX

- Fixed the bug that made Eastwall's smith disappear, thus preventing the mithril sidequest from advancing

- Added one extra scene right before Lianna goes to sleep relating to the choice of adding catnip potion to the tea or not

​v0.9.0 (chapter 9) is out! It's the longest one yet! I hope you have fun! <3

Patch notes below:


- Added chapter IX into the game, as well as the related areas and enemies

- Added a minor sidequest in which you collect kobold grenades for Cindy

- Made it so the "debug window" in Lianna's bathroom can only be used in a fresh new playthrough

- Buffed the Fireball's accuracy (from 75% to 85%), as it was too unreliable compared to the other offensive options

- Fixed the bug that made it possible to walk over the withered trees in the overworld

- Made minor changes to already existing content

Hi there, everyone! Just releasing this minor patch to let everyone know the game isn't dead, and that chapter 9's development has begun! It'll be quite a large chapter too, so it should take quite a while to finish, but hopefully it'll be out this month. I hope to see you there! <3


Patch notes for v0.8.2 below:

- Now every mithril item has a different cost

- Fixed the issue where, when trying to cancel out of making mithril armaments by pressing X or Esc, the game instead tried to forge a sword

- Made some corrections to the Frost Spirit's battle sprite

- Fixed the bug that made the Frost Spirit, Ice Elemental and Scholar enemies vulnerable to Cindy's Incense if fought after a vulnerable enemy

- Made some spelling/grammar corrections, as well as translated some Portuguese text I accidentally left behind

​This is it, folks! v0.8.1 is out and with it Huyuchi Village! If you have no idea what I'm talking about, I suggest you do both of Mappi Village's side quests available in the Adventurers' Guild. The last one is available after the end of chapter VII, btw.

Patch notes below:


- Added Huyuchi Village and its first main quest into the game

- Added a new playable character for Huyuchi's quest: Shida Khalin, the Spirit Archer

- Fixed the bug in which, in the kobold king rematch, using Cindy's Incense would make you win the fight

- Fixed the bug in which the cutscene didn't play properly if you tried fighting the kobold king again right after running away from it

- Fixed the bug in the cutscene after defeating the kobold king that didn't make Mao and Jeanne's NPC model disappear after the cutscene

- Made some changes to the stock of Eastwall's shops (in particular the magic shop, accessory shop and alchemist)

- Increased the minimum damage of many attacks

- Removed Jeanne's ability to equip light armor, which is now exclusive to Mao

- Nerfed the defense of magic robes as Lianna was tanking all magic attacks too easily (they grant you magic attack in return)

- Nerfed all the helmets, as the defense they gave along with shields and armor was just too much

- Nerfed the Sorcerer's Stone and Philospher's Ring

- Reduced the amount of turns the Silence status can last

- Buffed the damage of the Kobold Grenades

- Made some minor changes to existing content, as always

Overall progress: around 75%

v0.8.0 is here, folks! It doesn't have a lot of action, as it's mostly here to develop the plot, so I hope the story you get is worth it xD

Huyuchi Village is already in development and should be out in the next update too, so stay tuned!


Patch notes below:

- Added chapter VIII into the game, as well as the areas explored in it

- Removed the Lich rematch side quest from the game, as I have other future plans concerning the graveyard (if you happened to do the side quest in a previous version, the game will just treat it as if you defeated back in chapter II)

- Added the minor "Find the missing kitty" side quest for players who finished chapter 3's main quest (this is supposed to properly introduce new players to the side quest system, aside from the repeatable herb-collecting one)

- Now Mao's "Hide" skill also buffs his accuracy

- The lake monster side quest is only available after completing the talking donkey one, making sure you're already been to mappi village before doing it

- Now you can only accept side quests if you have your entire party with you (except for the herb gathering one)

- Fixed the bug in which Cindy's Flame Rag skill didn't even show up

- The Stimulant item now can only be used in battle

- Fixed the bug in which Cindy would have the "target" effect for her first battle (you can thank the ogre and RPG Maker's weird mechanics for that lol)

- There were too many white wolves in the early game, so now they'll only start showing up in chapter 3 as a lone enemy, and in groups in late game areas like Misty Woods

- Made some changes to shops (like removing most of the enchanted rings from their stocks keeping redundancy at a minimum)

- Made some minor changes to existing content, as always

Double update!

This time we're skipping v0.7.0 straight to v0.7.1. The reason for that was that it was discovered a bug that prevented chapter V to be completed, which was fixed in the last version. So for Newgrounds players, you now have both the newest chapter VII and a major side quest you can get from the Guild's mission board after completing the chapter.

v0.7.0

- Added chapter VI and the areas visited in it

- Added the "debug window" in Lianna's bathroom in order to help players who lost their save file

- Fixed the bug in which, at the end of chapter VI, the game would be stuck at sunset

- Fixed the bug in which the inside of the ogre's cave could have the sunset/night tint

- Made minor changes to existing areas and dialogues

- Fixed a small mistake in Jeanne's breastplate illustration where her right arm was transparent

- Fixed a bug in which Cindy's Incense not didn't always work as intended (this item is so bugged I almost regret ever including it lol)

- Mao now starts the game with only one knife (which was slightly buffed), and fills up the empty weapon slot with the dagger found in the woods

- Jeanne is no longer able to equip magic armor (robes and bangles)

- Jeanne now starts with a short sword (the item was entirely useless before)

- Updated some item icons

- Changed magic armor equipments' stats so it gives more magical def than regular def.

- Halved the amount of MP recovered by magic potions

- Fixed a small mistake with Mao's sprite when fleeing from battle

- Changed some skills' description

v0.7.1

- Added a new side quest to the game, which you can take from the Guild's quest board after completing chapter VII

- Fixed the issue where, in chapter 5, the game would freeze in the cutscene in Cindy's basement due to a change made in the previous version

- Added the "Flame Rag" consumable item to the game, which allows the user to deal fire damage with their melee attacks for 5 turns

- Added a couple of flame rags in the woodlands (the tutorial area) to properly introduce its mechanic to the player early

- Gave Cindy the "Flame Rag" skill, which has the same effect as the item of the same name

- Kobold grenadiers now may drop the "kobold grenade" item, which allows the user to deal instant fire damage

- Made the kobold king much harder to stun or paralyze

- Changed the animation for the kobolds' fire grenade so it isn't the same as Lianna's Embers spell

- Added a small line to Lianna saying she should head to Cindy's house before entering to the library for anyone who might confused on what the next step is

- Increased the enemy encounter rate in the Misty Woods area

- Moved Mao's mom a little closer to the middle of the screen in her "assassin mode" scene

- Reduced Lianna's innate M.def for balancing (she was taking minimal damage from all non physical damage sources)

- Made minor changes and corrections to the already existing content, as always

- Fixed the clipping visual issues when entering buildings in Mappi Village

- Changed the odds for Blind and Silence being successfully applied to enemies

- Slightly buffed the regular kobolds' stats to properly met the player's current expected power level

- Made a small change to the layout of the graveyard in order to become navigating it more involved

- Fixed the bug where Jeanne would start chapter 2 already with skill she shouldn't

- Nerfed the Powerful Blow skill monsters use as it was dealing way more damage than a regular attack

- Dead party members now gain exp too (as this game doesn't have many fights, having a party member die during a bossfight would likely make them stay behind in exp the whole game)
